The EBSQ Friday Five offers a brief look at noteworthy news from around the EBSQ Artist Blogosphere. This week features four entries from our June Shows plus an introduction.

2. Pansy Sisters – Sara Burrier’s entry to the Pansy and Violas Show is a magical delight!
3. Resting – For the One Word Concept Show Mary T. Scandurro painted on clayboard for the first time. Read about her experience.
4. Yellow Pear II – All I can say about Torrie Smiley’s Redux entry is…Wow!
5. Last, but not least, I want to welcome Harlan to the wonderful world of blogging! She is an amazing painter and needle felt artist who inspires us everyday with her talents. Check out her blog today:
We’re accepting entries through the end of the day (11:59pm EST on 28 February 2010) for our Red Cross fundraiser to benefit Haiti Earthquake relief. Yes, there’s a $10 fee per entry, but half of your fee goes directly to the Red Cross, and the other half goes in the kitty for prize money for the show winner to be voted upon starting tomorrow. It’s a win-win scenario, and we like win-wins here at EBSQ! If you have a ready piece of heart-themed art, please consider entering Art from the Heart to benefit Haiti today!
2010 is our 10th anniversary year (yay!) so we’re bringing back some old favourites, our most popular past flowers for FOTM for those of you who missed them the first time around, two benefits, and two brick-and-mortar exhibits to run concurrently with the shows of the same name online (another big yay!)

So–which shows are YOU most looking forward to in 2010?
It’s that time of year again; we’re currently registering partners for our 9th Annual Portrait Swap. Unlike previous years where we randomly paired members for this event, this year we’re asking members to find their own partner. If you’re looking for someone to partner with, sign up on the EBSQ Community Forum (you must be logged into the forum to post–just ping us if you need help with this!) And if you already have a partner, please let us know with whom you’re partnering.
All work must be completed by 30 November 2009. As this is a swap, we ask that you send your finished portrait to your partner.
