Happy New Year EBSQ Fans! We are kicking off the New Year with a magically talented artist, who can take a little of this and a little and that, and voilà!
Who and where are you?
Thank you for having me here, I’m so honored to be a blogger of the week! I’m Michele Lynch, and I live in O’Fallon, Missouri (No, there is no cow tipping that I know of!). Mixed media seems to be where my heart is the happiest, it allows me to combine my love of painting, sculpting and adding found objects to my artwork. I’ve recently begun telling a sort of fairy tale story through my creation of mixed media art dolls, who are the characters in the story.
How did you get started art blogging?
I started my blog back in 2008 because it was so much easier to do than to update my website all the time. Updating the website was so time consuming and I could update my blog in just a few minutes. I also love the community feeling of blogs, they are so much more connected that websites. I love when people comment on my blog and I am always looking for new blogs to explore. I’ve met so many wonderful people through blogs.
Any tips for other EBSQ art bloggers?
I try to post something everyday, new artwork, something I’m working on, something I’ve discovered in blogland. The more pictures the better! Everyone loves eye candy! I also visit as many blogs as I can everyday, and leave comments.
I love listening to music in my studio, Pandora radio rocks! I listen to Sick Puppies, Rise Against, Breaking Benjamin, Stone Sour, and the list goes on ;o) It’s a good thing I’m alone in the studio most of the time so no one else has to hear me sing!
I’m continuing the series of the Steampunk Souls art dolls with more characters from the rebellion and I’m also working on a few paintings that are from the same scary tale :o)
Thank you Michele for being an EBSQ Blogger of the Week!
