This week’s Simon is W. Kevin Murray. This week he is asking everyone to go a little deeper with his theme “Our Heros“.  Here is what he posted:

This round of “Simon Sez” came to me because of yesterday’s passing of Harry Kalas.  If you live anywhere near Philadelphia or are a fan of Major League Baseball you are in moaring today. Harry “The Voice” of the Phillies for almost 40 years passed away yesterday at the ballpark in Washington, DC. He also lent his voice to NFL Films and Campbell’s Soup.  I’m almost 50 and can’t remember a game where I didn’t hear his voice broadcasting the play by play.

I certainly don’t want this to be some kind of a bummer thread. I want it to be upbeat and positive.  Who’s your Hero, Mentor, Inspiration. Have you used someones influence to guide your own work?  Well lets see them or the work they have inspired !! Lets say up to five entries. I think I’ll close the show next Saturday the 25th.

This is my father, the man who gave me my work ethic. The kids I grew up with in my neighborhood gave him the nickname “Brick”.
