We’re coming into the home stretch on the “Challenge! Draw or Stamp your Ornament Pendant Charm”. If you have something, post it, if you have been meaning to do one, do it and if you are just now noticing, go eat and then make something!
The 30th is the last day to enter and Mary Lu (Amethyst Lobster or Lobsterlu here on the boards) is offering some of her jewelry as a prize. When you complete your entries, post them in the “Challenge! Draw or Stamp your Ornament Pendant Charm” thread in the Functional Art section on the EBSQ Forum.
The first part of the workshop describes how to make charms or pendants from a piece of a plastic take-out lid. All you have to do is draw a picture on a lid, cut out a shape, punch a hole and bake it for a few minutes. The plastic will shrink up to 4 times smaller. You’ll have a neat miniature detailed drawing on a charm or pendant!
This technique could be used not just for jewelry, but also Christmas ornaments, sun-catchers, parts of mobiles, etc. (BTW, rubber stamping and certain painting can also be used instead of drawing). If you have questions, post them in the Challenge thread in the Functional Art section on the EBSQ Forum. Be sure to post your finished pieces there, too!
Since I would LOVE to see what others can create with this technique, I’m offering prizes to the best example of ANYTHING using this technique!
Add an entry into your portfolio 11/1 – 11/30/07.
Post in this thread a link.
We’ll vote in Dec.
Winner will receive their choice of either a pair of my handmade
earrings or a pair of my handmade cuff-links. Photos of prizes will be
posted to the thread around mid-month (after I make them!).
I’ll be joining the challenge myself, but will not be eligible for prizes.
